Our SEA technology (seaweed-based, emission-avoiding, alternatives to plastic) provides a scalable, sustainable, and carbon-negative solution to the single-use plastic pollution problem. We use seaweed-derived biopolymers and proprietary formulation technology to produce materials that are readily biodegradable, flexible, durable, lightweight, and can be processed on conventional plastic manufacturing equipment.
Our materials do not require industrial composting facilities for degradation like many other bioplastics do. Seaweed-based utensils and packaging can be safely composted at home or even discarded in a yard to provide the soil with organic matter and micronutrients. We use truly biodegradable and carbon negative materials to replace plastics at scale.
Our vision is to replace disposable single-use plastic items in the foodservice industry as well as plastic food packaging. We are vigorously working to create truly biodegradable and sustainable alternatives to items like plastic utensils, cups, lids, straws, and disposable take-out containers.
LOLIWARE’s SEA technology, backed by three patents, enables various seaweed-based materials to be used on existing plastic processing machinery to produce robust, lightweight, and biodegradable materials. By employing machine learning to fine-tune seaweed-based formulation compositions and processing parameters, we can produce single-use items that closely replicate the performance profiles of those composed of conventional plastics but without the negative impact on our planet.
