THE FOUNDER VISION
As the CEO of an interdisciplinary team of expert scientists, food technologists, and seaweed biologists,
Sea F. Briganti developed LOLIWARE Intelligent Seaweed Technologies (LIST) – a category of materials made from seaweed (a regenerative and carbon sequestering input) that outperform paper products & bioplastics.
Prior to founding LOLIWARE, Briganti graduated at the top of her class at Parsons School of Design (Industrial Design & Engineering) and went on to build innovation pipelines for global CPG companies Coca Cola, Pepsi, Nestle, and L'Oreal, with a lens on sustainable packaging and food tech. Raised in Hawaii, Briganti’s deep connection with the ocean led to an unwavering commitment to eliminate single-use plastics and heal the planet. With LOLIWARE, Briganti and her team are pioneering a plastic-free future with products that are ‘Designed to Disappear’.

Reducing our use of single-use plastics matters for both human health and planetary health. A dependence on plastic perpetuates a broken economic model built on the extraction of fossil fuels, which in turn accelerates the detrimental effects of climate change. Plastic disposables are particularly harmful contributors to climate change, and ultimately human health, as they require the ongoing extracting of petroleum to come to market, and then become one of the worst culprits of land and water pollution at the end of use.
Rather than creating a product based on the finite resources available to the extractive petrochemical industry, which heavily contribute toxic CO2 emissions to the atmosphere, LOLIWARE’S products are derived from seaweed. Seaweed is a regenerative renewable resource that sequesters carbon in the atmosphere.
As a hyper-compostable and food-grade product, the LOLIWARE Straw is part of the circular economy, since it is converted back into energy at the end of use.
By using a renewable resource that converts back into energy, LOLIWARE reduces the plastic pollution in oceans, waterways, and coastal areas. This has an important and significant positive impact on both human and environmental health.

Our to-go culture is increasing exponentially worldwide and there is a desperate need for plastic alternatives like LOLIWARE. Our challenge is how to move fast enough to address a problem that’s at such a massive scale. We’ve developed a solution and now it’s a race against time to replace the plastic faster than it is polluting our waterways & marine life.
